my first thought was facel vega. cause the shape of the taillights and the small body. very european. on the other hand: cadillac-tail? but wouldnt it hav to be broader than the bmw? I am confused.

That's just a commom US car. They wouldn't have used a expensive rare european car just for this scene.

That's a DeVille, not an Eldorado.

EDIT: 1997-99 model (by the style of chrome on the bumper)

m.

They tried that once, it failed miserably (the infamous Cimmaron). The CTS isn't very big though (nor is the BLS).

it's not that common. Plus, it's a Cadillac, so it's expensive as well. I would have liked if they would have destroyed the two cars left to the Cadillac, they look rather cheap and crappy in contrast to the nice blue Deville :/

Well I think that a 10-year-old Cadillac is still much cheaper than a Facel-Véga :p (and at least much easier to find)

*malice-modus on*
Is there any other use for such a car like this than destroying it in a movie?

Just been looking at this page http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/cad1990/CAD96D.HTM (to clarify when they changed the engine on the base model DeVille) and it says - Production Total: 100,251 (and that was just for that year) Yeah, what a great loss.

You might not like the car but I (and as we can see above, other users too) like the Cadillac.
