2.0 T. Spark for Polizia |

Well, if we assume the police cars as real ones, every one (at least I speak for Italy, there are good reference sites, too) can be narrowed with engine and year of supply ![]() -- Last edit: 2020-11-10 12:46:25 |

That's a good point indeed. Usually I set them as Polizia considering as default that they are original vehicles and setting the engine officially supplied (for Italian police/Carabinieri cars it's possible, in other countries it's not always foregone). The MY should be set the same way too indeed. What do admins think about this? |

So long as you're confident you're knowledgable enough to identify them as original or ex-service vehicles, especially as they often have unique specifications (like the Defenders with 2.0 petrol engines) and not mock up fakes. It's difficult here because for UK productions we don't get real service vehicles, just prop vehicles made out of genuine ex-police cars in correct spec or other mockups made out of common models used by the police (or whatever is in for product placement that week). |

Here it depends a lot on the productions: some of them, as far as I know, were capable of getting real dismissed units (or there were "courtesy" appearances of real ones), whereas of course there are lots of fake ones. Usually the specifications were "fixed" for each supply (often basic looks but bigger engines), so for example we had Alfa 33 with 1.7 engine but exterior looks similar to 1.3 with small hubcaps, or Fiat Marea with 2.0 engine but black bumpers and no alloys (I've seen for example Marea with painted bumpers and they were clearly fake ones). Sometimes also lightbars could differ on each supply. This only applies to Polizia/Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza vehicles, instead local police cars are purchased by municipalities and don't follow this, indeed you can find nearly everything. |
