Mitsubishi Pajero hull, but that's the rare-to-see Dodge Raider,a badge-engineering of 1st gen.Pajero, assembled in USA since 1987(don't were sold many probably 'cause it suffers the challenge on the market of the Mitsubishi Montero, that was a Pajero imported with that name and US-spec directly by Japan;in fact,at end of the decade, the Dodge Raider was already disappeared)

The name tag on the upper edge of grille says"RAIDER",and the same was repeated on front fenders(in lieu of "PAJERO")

It's definitely a 4 cylinder model, the V6 models had rear coil springs... The other pictures clearly show this one with rear leaf springs, which denotes the 2.6L 4 cylinder engine.

Hey!!! This was MY car...literally. I tried to buy an ʻ87 Mitsubishi Montero (in California), but got a great deal on this rebadged Montero/Pajero ʻ87 Dodge Raider. I was the Unit Still Photographer on Lobsterman From Mars and they asked to borrow it for a chase scene with Patrick Macnee (actor from the original TV series The Avengers).

Yes it was a 2.6L 4 banger. Drove it extensively throughout the Mojave, Anza-Borrego, and Sonora Deserts in California and Mexico. Paid $14,500 new. I donʻt recall the Raiders ever having a V6 like the Mitsubishi Montero starting around ʻ89. I sold it in 1990 when I moved to Switzerland.

And it had a Japanese VIN number....made in Japan. The only US part was the license plate and the Dodge Raider badging.
