![]() This is a bit confusing. GSF 925 was genuine early 49 Edinburgh plate, but no trace now. I wonder if it's the same hearse as the other RR (HGB 957) with for some reason a fake plate. Both are followed by the VdP Limo and it seems strange for a funeral to have 2 hearses. Can anyone spot any differences between them?? Or altenatively confirm GSF 925 as a recorded RR Hearse (which suggests a continuity goof with both cars being used for some reason)?? |

Interesting idea - CWS stands for Co-operative Wholesale Society, and the "Co-op" do funerals for their members, and built their own special hearse designs: 1] http://collections.glasgowmuseums.com/starobject.html?oid=138517 "Rolls Royce Silver Wraith Hearse with registration number JGA554. It was first registered on 31 December 1949. Rolls Royce made the chassis only and the body built by Scottish Co-operative Wholesale Society Ltd" 2] http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/15348/lot/633/ "This standard-wheelbase, right-hand drive Silver Wraith Hearse [JGA 135/WHD2] was sold new in 1950 for bodying as a hearse by the Scottish Co-operative Society, which was Rolls-Royces biggest customer at that time."
