![]() ![]() Looks like DF 7352 plate which goes to this - now repainted - Alvis https://www.flickr.com/photos/45676495@N05/8284063791/ "1929 Alvis 12/50 TG Tourer: Alvis 12/50 (1923-32) Engine 1645cc S4 OHV Production 3705 Introduced 1923... very important Alvis model..... until 1932. Factory bodies (by Carbodies and Cross & Ellis) could be specified in 2 or 4 seat and open or closed bodies. 1496cc 4-cylinder OHV in a chassis with wheelbase of 108.5" (SA) and 112.5" (SB). SC arrived late 1924 with 1598cc (unless 1496cc unit was specified for sporting use) and, like all remaining cars, the longer chassis. Front wheel brakes were optional. 1926 TE had stronger chassis and new 1645cc engine with TF retaining 1496cc unit. A single-plate clutch replaced cone type, and for these and all later 12/50s the engine was bolted directly to the chassis; all 12/50s from TE/TF onwards had 4 wheel brakes as standard. In 1927 TE/TF replaced by TG (1645cc) and SD (1496cc); TG was standard 'touring' model, while SD - with 1496cc engine and large-port cylinder head was more sporty. Also available was TH with gearbox and rear axle ratios of 'touring' TG, but sub-1500cc engine of SD. The TG and SD models were available until 1929. The 12/50 was withdrawn from 1929-30 with Alvis concentrating on their front wheel drive models. But sales were slow and 12/50 re-introduced as 1645cc 1931 TJ until 1932 - referred to by Alvisists as the 'revival period', with coil instead of magneto ignition, deep chromed radiator shell, and rear petrol tank instead of scuttle-mounted as most older 12/50s."
