According to what is said on Wikipedia, the Charger seems to have been sold as Valiant rather than Chrysler...

But why is it said at several places that Chrysler group used the Valiant make for the Charger?

Trust me on this. ALL AUSTRALIAN VALIANTS ARE CHRYSLERS. I am President of the R & S Series Valiant Car Club of NSW and have seen a lot of Valiants in Australia. They are refered to by people who don't know better as just Valiants but they are all Chryslers in Australia. They were never sold as a seperate make. Chrysler is the make. Can we put this to rest now.

As they were never sold new anywhere in North America about all you could do is look out for one through a local (to you) Mopar related marque club or import one privately.

69 Roadrunner, there are importers specialising in these cars, try madmaxcars.com or Aussiecoupes or maybe try a search on the net.

Sorry-strict regulations on the importation of cars means one of these will NEVER be allowed on to US soil.It will never meet the emissions standards or safety requirements. If you want one, you'll have to get a vacation home in Australia and store it there.

Nightrider RU

2011-05-09 01:27

Even if vehicle is considered as classic one?

Gag Halfrunt UK

2011-05-09 01:30

You can import non-compliant cars into the US if they're at least twenty-five years old.

Nightrider RU

2011-05-09 01:40

Actually, I don't know why I bother about it, as I'm not in US anywyay.

tonkatracker US

2011-05-09 01:42

As Gag Halfrunt stated any car can be imported and registered in the US if it is 25 years or older, also some more modern vehicles can be imported if they are made compliant but that is a huge hassle.

2011-05-09 22:49

Good to know. I just know the cars I like cannot be imported here.I'd love to have a 1980s Mitsubishi Lancer (box-type),from the Philippines (no need to convert the steering as they are on the same side) but I was told "Forget it, it can't happen. It must pass a crash test and the emissions have to be changed. IF you can get it here, it can only sit in the garage, unregistered and undriven." So I gave up on that dream.

As I recall, the bad guy got into the car and drove up to the Mack truck driven by Max. After it side-swiped by the Mack, it went out of control hitting the Dodge tow truck.

It must've been a former Main Force Patrol car, base on the driver's outfit.
