[quote=andrepa]BSA B25 Starfire , but there have been similar models 250ccm , too. Why the hesitation?. It certainly is a BSA B25 Starfire, a '69, I believe. http://www.vintagebike.co.uk/pictures/1969-bsa-b25-starfire/ http://motorbike-search-engine.co.uk/classic_bikes/Starfire%20005.jpg -- Last edit: 2014-07-01 13:16:25 |

It was actually my dad (David Jones) who fixed this bike (I think), together with a fella called "Mouse" (real name Terry Price). They worked at "The Ag", (modern day Tudor Griffith's who bought the business, and not Scott's, but maybe Scotts did something else to the bike later). The groundsman at the college film set at the time was a Kenyan called Mr. Ramesh Sethi (an international cricketer) who, my dad suggested, was probably quite new to groundskeeping at the time. They knew each other well as The Ag maintained their ground working equipment. Anyway, the film crew turned up at the Ag and said they couldn't start the bike. They fixed it (just changed a spark plug as it was fouled he thinks) and drove the bike up in a trailer back to the college (set). From there, Mouse had to give a demonstration of how he started it and prove that it worked before handing back. My dad thinks Geraldine McEwan was there , but she wasn't in this film, which makes us think there could be two motorbike sagas at Ellesmere college film sets during the late 70s! And if you're wondering why he was called Mouse, when asked my dad simply replied, "Because he looked like a mouse"! -- Last edit: 2020-11-13 11:31:16 |
