In Hong Kong the Japanese vehicles are sold in original set, including Pajero, for the favorites of Hong Kong people. Usually in Hong Kong, Pajero are owned by the engineering or infrastructure companies. (Hong Kong people regards Pajero as engineering vehicle, and few are used as private cars.) If being used for a long time, they'll refit with some unoriginal components, to extent the lifetime of Pajero. But in this movie, the Pajero was driven by the thieves, being chased by the Mini (driven by the inspector). In the eyes of Hong Kong people, it's strange to be seen. -- Last edit: 2014-02-01 04:32:39 |

For a reason, which is totally unknown either on the Philippines and in Hongkong, in Germany a lot -even millions- of cars usually are wearing steel wheels or old or no-name-alloy-wheels: each year in the wintertime (a rule of thumb says "between October and Easter), for the winter-tires (and often to avoid damages by salt at the "good" original alloys. |

I know this. It's for the environment and the need of Europe. In Hong Kong this consideration is unnecessary, because Hong Kong is not as cold as Europe in winter (no snow in Hong Kong). But because of this difference, many European vehicles cannot adapt the environment of Hong Kong. E.g. Iveco and Renault are now refused to introduce by Hong Kong users, because Iveco and Renault are frequently broken in Hong Kong, and not suitable to be used in Hong Kong. Japanese vehicles have no this problem, so Hong Kong people like them. -- Last edit: 2014-02-02 15:07:31 |

Have you ever experienced snow and ice by yourself? :? The watercooled Volkswagens, exported to Hongkong in the 70ies and 80ies, were are the "made for tropical countries"-versions, with more powerful waterpumps and coolers, often with A/C, too. (A/C was very uncommon in Germany up to the 90ies, only a few, but not all, premium cars had it). |

If in Hong Kong, no, I haven't. Hong Kong is near to the tropical area of Asia, so the lowest temperature is not enough to have snow. Some European vehicles have similar special arrangement, to adapt the environment of Hong Kong and Asia. As I know, Mercedes-Benz Actros is an example. However, I'm not clear about VW cars, like Golf. If I say VW Golf only, no special problem about the performance occured in Hong Kong, for every generations. For every models of Mercedes-Benz private cars, and BMW 1, 3, 5 Series, they are also OK in Hong Kong. -- Last edit: 2014-02-05 07:11:28 |

This is an export (HK) spec grille. JDM models carry the MMC grille like below. https://www.beforward.jp/mitsubishi/pajero/bf420767/id/526215/ -- Last edit: 2022-06-20 19:58:22 |
