GB plate FD1 is now on a Porsche Cayenne. |

FD 1 issued 1903, now on a 2003 Porsche Cayenne S. It is possible that in 1980 the plate was genuine for this Bentley, or that the real plate was xFD 1xx and has been blacked out. Or a total fake. |

The shuttered radiator suggests that this is an 8-litre. I do not recognise the car, but the coachbuilder could be Vanden Plas. |

I remember a few years ago there was a Bentley tour here in NZ - there have been several over the years - for which 30 or more overseas owners shipped there cars here. There were at least five 8 litres and quite a few other bis sixes as well. I was forunate to see them all together and it was interesting to note that the 8 litre and the 6 1/2 have the their manifolding on different sides of the engine which shows with the tail pipe; 8 litre on the left and Speed Six etc on the right. |
