This side view IDs it as a '64 Monza, although the wheel covers are from a '61: Link to "thefilmstage.com" |

I think it is the same 1961 Corvair. From what is seen, it is definitely not a '61 which would have had the same C-O-R-V-A-I-R script with a line trough it on the very front of the curve on the fender. The script on the rear of the fender looks '61 which was smaller than the '64. The wheel covers are definitely '61. Most of the 1960's had dog dish hubcaps. There were some monzas in '61 with a smooth full wheel cover. The '61 wheel cover had a raised flat center with 12 points extending from it as it appears here. |

If I recall from the last scene of the movie, there is also a corvair Greenbrier van parked on the left side of the street. Does anyone have a pic of it? |

Could be either: 62imperial is partially right. This car is mixed up. The front trim is definitely a 1964. The wheel covers and fender trim are '61. They could have changed the wheel covers for the movie, but the fender emblem would have been hard to change for such a minor detail. If it is the same coupe as shown in the other shots, the rear deck (not trunklid) trim is a 1961. Tail light lenses are either '60 or '61. |

Here is the Greenbrier /vehicle_669216-Cadillac-Series-62-1957.html It's not very well visible. When there's a Blu-Ray more of the background cars can be posted. |

The Corvair Greenbrier was parked on the right side of the street. |

Correction to earlier post: I meant to say that the 1960 had the C-O-R-V-A-I-R script on the front of the fender. The lower fender trim is correct for 1961. The 1964 trim had a wider triangle nearer to the bottom of the emblem. |

The van is the Corvan, not the Greenbrier. The Greenbrier was a passenger van with windows on the side. There is not enough detail to determine. They were made from 1961 to 1965 with only a few very minor changes. |

Correction: This is definitely the Corvan, not the Greenbrier. There is not enough detail to determine the year. |

This car CANNOT BE A 1964. I've owned over 30 Corvairs, probably more than half of them early models, and swapped trim, lights, lids, doors, hoods - but NEVER put the fake air vents from below a 1960-62 Monza coupe's rear window (backlite) on a '63 or '64. The '63-'64 fake vents didn't require the dimples in the sheetmetal that the ones seen here fit into. These won't fit a '63 or '64 without some serious effort! So from what I can see in the picture (can't make out the Monza "cross" on the front fender) the dimple-style fake air vents and wheel covers suggest '61 Monza. But maybe someone swapped wheel covers. I might have! |

Do you mean an older stamping at the body? |
