Fake plate. No TÜV sticker, Eurostripe is messed up, crest sticker doesn't match any German one (unless it's been pinched from an old pre-1995 plate) and most importantly, the car is LHD. |

The stars would be above the 'I' in real life, also this is why you didn't recognize the sticker - 'I' for Italy. No province code to the right either. And, BTW, the car is RHD - for driving on the left side of the road |

Well, there is no more TÜV sticker on the front plate for a few years now. RHD cars can be legally registred in Germany. -- Last edit: 2015-12-04 21:10:41 |

It's an Aussie plate that's styled to look like a German one. Seen these before in pictures. Think it's not unusual for European car owners down under to fit them? |

Sandie, Gamer: The 'I' reads 'VIC' top to bottom. It's a Victorian plate, issued in Victoria? |

Yes. Victoria plate VAB969 belongs to a June 2007 Audi. |

No, its just the actual regular Aussie plate. The world's plate-octopus http://www.utsch.com/en/home.html has overtaken not only Europe and wide parts of Africa and Asia, also Down Under. |

The German style plates are optional, not standard. Link to "en.wikipedia.org" |

European style plates were introduced in Victoria in August 2005. They cost $500, so they're quite rare (they were sort of popular for a while but the novelty wore off very soon). They're also available in many other states, and we now even have US-size and Japan-size plates available. http://www.vplates.com.au/euro Here's another car in VIC with the "mini Euro" plate: /vehicle_720932-Bentley-Continental-Flying-Spur-2006.html -- Last edit: 2015-12-05 09:58:52 |

Interesting info, thanks guys. I always get LHD and RHD mixed up, but I knew it was an Aussie show. |
