I don't think those are windows. I can't exactly remember what it is as I saw the movie 2 days ago, but I do remember that this crash happens in an underground subway or whatever it was. BTW, the editors did a very good job on this Maserati's engine noise! It sounded glorious! |

No, I think they didn't change anything. The glass is seen in the movie as well. In fact, when both cars rev engines we see it being shaken by the sound. But when they crash the shot is cut before we see the glass break. |

I think the glass protected some giant ventilators, if I remember correctly. And yes, the car sounds were amazing. The chase had no music and was very well shot. It was simple compared to other scenes (just car vs car), and it was a great scene for me. |
