Not a 1959 but a 1958 Chrysler Saratoga two-door hardtop coupe LC2-M-23 .Powered by Chrysler's Spitfire V8 354 cid of 310 hp on a wheelbase of126 inches..The 1959 Saratoga ( and other Chryslers ) are completely different ( other roof treatments , extended hoods over the taillights and over the headlights , other side trims, different colour schemes ...)

Is IMDb wrong? They say this is a 1957.

Name is a bit redundant; consider dropping the "coupe" element? I don't mean to challenge pilou in any way.

This has the compound curve windshield, so it could never have been a 1957. Interesting also that the license plate displays no year, because the plates of Texas were white characters on black background, or vice versa, which would alternate every year starting about 1957 or so.

replying to self:
"Coupe" by definition, is a two-door pillarless car (rear roof and windscreen pillars only). The most formal part of pilou's identification should have been the "coupe" element, rather than layman's terms "two-door hardtop." I am realising this only now.

THere were also many pillared coupes (although not 1958 Chryslers), but I agree that Hardtop Coupe is more apropriate. Saratogas had as chassis code [LC-2-M].

OMG, there it is again. My feeling of desperate consternation, when I see, how names of classic cars were smashed down in the dirt decades later.
See here: /vehicle_138708-Chrysler-Saratoga.html

Not even 24 hours after that one: /vehicle.php?id=21283

Waaaaah! Fortunately I'm not too desperated - because I never liked any Chrysler-product except one: /vehicle_2075-Dodge-Charger-R-T-1968.html :)
