Alexander, you must have missed this |

Yes, I really missed it. Thanks a lot for pointing it out to me! Identification is a bit tricky! It could be a Series IIa or III and it is an export version. Is there a chance to get a view a bit further down? The rear cross-member and perhaps a glance of the lower edge of the rear wing would tell if it is an 88" or 109". The position of the side window in the canvas might give a clue, too. But pictures of these are very rare and I haven't found enough images to give a definite answer. |

I think this image was the best I could do, it is only briefly shown. I'll try to rewatch that part however and see if I can come up with more images. The scene is shot in the South of France, if that might be any help.... |

I am now certain that it is a 109" version. Only the 109" has extra metal on the sides of the wheel housings in the load-bed: 109": http://www.landrovercentre.com/Friends/image/Sutton/gbs-07.jpg 88": http://www.landrovercentre.com/Friends/image/Cavanagh/SIR496-04.jpg |

Yes, the 109" got the extra ribs and the 88" didn't. I can also tell this is a Series 2A from the tailboard. The Series 2 and 2A models have the separate ribs riveted to the alloy whereas the Sereis 3 has a galvanised sheet cover. Also, the top capping on Series 2 models has a shallow return on the inside whilst the 2A has a deep return, as on this Land Rover. |
