This is really amazing to see this car again. This actual car, XUL 715H, was the first car I ever owned. I bought it in 1986 for £1750 from a guy in Hampstead and sold it two years later, also for £1750, to a solicitor in London. During my period of ownership I carefully looked after it and when I sold it the car still only had 67,000 miles on the clock. I had most of its service history to document the mileage and once put the car into a Concours show. It was one of the last MkII convertibles. I had the carbs re-built and replaced the rear tyres with 175s, keeping 155s on the front. This improved the road handling. I also replaced the carpets and the tunnel over the gearbox. Apart from that, it was near perfect. Only a few minor rust patches that were easy to repair. I was a member of the Triumph Sports Six club and I remember driving the car on a tour through the Lake District. Good to see that the car is still on the road all these years later. |

vitesse owner: That's awesome. This car has stuck with me, since it's the first DVLA check I ever did on this site that came back for a car that hasn't been scrapped. Let's hope it stays on the road for years to come. |
