Cannot be an AM General because the company was established in 1971 (ten years after this film was made). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AM_General If it's an M-35, the original manufacturer was Reo. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M-35_Cargo_Truck -- Last edit: 2013-09-27 01:20:46 |

Goodness gracious me! Undoubtedly, I've been traumatized by this lengthy search /vehicle_607053-Kaiser-M-251.html My apologies. (Mmmh… it's the second time I'm apologizing to you, Gag.) |

This is a 5 ton M54. In this pic the larger tires are visible as is the driver's side fuel tank (the 2.5 tons had the tank on opposite side). Additionally the bed is unique to the short wheel base 5 ton cargo truck with the forward under bed stowage compartment and the small lower lip at the rear. Most likely Reo, (International Harvester, Diamond T or Mack, too early for Kaiser-Jeep). I don't know too much about these trucks but I know a 5 ton when I see it. |

Neither on en.wiki nor Olive-drab is said Reo to have been contractor for the M-54/M-39 Series. I turn it to… IH. -- Last edit: 2015-09-22 09:52:48 |
