since very bad quality I go with Chrysler M4 A4 version cos this was the version most used by the French in WW2 where this movie was filmed http://the.shadock.free.fr/sherman_minutia/sherman_types/m4a4/m4a4.html -- Last edit: 2013-09-22 14:43:20 |

Well, there are many Shermans in the movie, as far as I know all taken out of archive footage. I picked this pic because I liked it. Now, this one being a Chrylser, Alco, Baldwin, Presse Steel or Fisher or others, I can't say. Do you one to suggest a particular and attested Sherman among other pics I could provide from the film? |

to prove that it's a A4 once and for all a pic from the sides is good , see my link, the A4 has a streched longer chssis the A4 was build exclusivly by Chrysler see this guide to ID Sherman http://the.shadock.free.fr/sherman_minutia/index.html -- Last edit: 2013-09-22 15:21:17 |

OK, Mike, I had read the pages you linked me before. And about the tank on the pic, it is the better view I can have of it (the cut is less than half a second after that frame). I just wanted (I typed "do you one" instead of "do you want"!) to know if you would try some other Shermans which are in the movie. Here they are: ![]() Time: 010507 ![]() Time: 010845 I could have picked one of those two instead of the one on the main pic. These images are of the same 'archives' origin. |

the one in mai pic seems to be slightly longer which makes it Chrysler M4 A4 Sherman I consider this SOLVED the rest are too bad quality to make out the differences |

All tanks in these images are cast hull M4A1s. The one in the main image is an M4A1 (76)W Sherman. |
