Jaguar S-Type? |

No doubt it is a small Jaguar by the instruments, but it may be either a MkII. But with the old 4 spokes wheel I think only can be a Mk II. I cannot figure the year. -- Last edit: 2013-07-03 20:33:46 |

No more doubts: this car is a 1959 Mark II, the first year of Mark II. In 1960 the driving wheel was changed to two apokes with horn ring and very different style. -- Last edit: 2013-07-03 20:43:59 |

I wonder know why this identification was not considered. This car cannot be a Mark I because the quarter vents are not round, it cannot be either a Mark II post-1960 or a S-Type because the wheel is completely different. It cannot be any of big saloons because instruments are different. So, I asked on 1959 Jaguar Mark II. |

Visible details identify it as a Mk2, nevertheless there's no evidence that this model ever used this steering wheel. Even first photos when it was already a prototype (called Utah facelift) show it with the usual Mk2 steering wheel. In my opinion - and looking at the Jaguar Drivers' Club window sticker - this car belonged to a marque enthusiast who decided to adapt an old-style traditional Jaguar-style four-spoke steering wheel. So there's no apparent reason to list it as a 1959 car. |

Most likely just missed (there are many comments) or not yet seen by enough people (less than 24h between your two comments, and for example I check comments only once a day) |
