It's a Cooper 1300 Export (a late one with its black wipers). |

Not a Cooper as all of them when in a dark colour like this one, had a white roof. The same grille in a solid color was tipical of the Mini Matic. |

The Mini Matic and the Cooper 1300 Export didn't share the same grille: although black, the Matic's grille didn't have the hexagonal shape of the grille used by the Cooper. Even if they are not clearly seen, these wheels also look more the Cooper 1300 Export ones. It's true that all Cooper 1300 Export cars had two-tone paints and I think this car is painted "Prugna/Nero". According to John Parnell's "Original Mini Cooper and Cooper S" it was one of the colour schemes available and I think it's the case of this one. So, I maintain this car is a Mini Cooper 1300 Export and at least from 1973 by the black wipers. |
