What's the difference with an LTD CV? |
◊ 2006-10-15 03:22 |
The difference is that the LTD CV came in 1983. Before, it was just LTD. |

The S was the base model trim level with the single large sealed beam headilght. The CV had four-eyes. Actually the CV was the top of the line trim level for the LTD from '79-'82. |

It's really a 1982 because you can see the blue oval logo. |

According to th Encyclopedia of American Police cars by Edwin.j.Sanow, the 1982 police Ford LTD 'S' had a 351ci windsor HO engine, with a 0-60 in 12.6secs and a top speed of 116mph (an earlier 1980 car could reach 0-60 in 11.5secs and a top speed of 121mph) Not a bad performance actually, considering what new home grown cars it had to chase at the time. Road & Track (sept '82) tested a firebird trans-am (I'd guess a common teen boy-racer type car!) which with a 5-litre, 165bhp engine could only do 106mph.! with a 0-60 in 9.2secs (not exactly blisteringly fast) -- Last edit: 2008-02-19 02:40:02 |

This is not the same car, as: /vehicle_59870-Ford-LTD-S-1982.html ? |

Well three identical cars were used as you can see in garco's second thumbnail. So they're probably different cars. |

Three that appear to be identical (a nearly impossible feat for a tv/movie police vehicle or even for a main character's double vehicle) and equally gorgeous looking. |
