The car actually burned rubber while backing away from the Peterbilt headed its way. |

Odd that a 49' would be in a movie full of 1970's cars... |

Why? It'd only be about 21-25 years old at the time. You still see old Devilles, Fleetwoods, Impalas, Caprices, Crown Vics, and Grand Marquis from 1980 in movies today. |

And in rural areas I guess that you see old cars more often than in cities? |

old people in old cars. |

In Belgium, we were keeping our car very long (like in Sweden) in thoses years. My parent had a 1950 Plymouth(wine-red color). A very good and strong car. They changed it for a 1955 Chevrolet and they had only problems. Untill end of the '70's, we were seeing our old Plymouth driving in the town. |

Now in Belgium the average age of a car on the road is 6 years, and the average retirement year of a car is 12 years. |

Yes, and it really sucks because they're never kept in good condition. My Grandpa in Nikiski, AK has a 02' Silverado, a 76' CJ-7, two old 1930's Willy-Olverlands (neither run) a 1963 Jeep, a 76' Bronco, a 93' Cheyenne and a 91' Blazer. He also has a junk yard full of old cars in his yard. And my uncles and aunts also all have a few cars older then 1980. |

In my humble opinion, I would have to say that I appreciate older cars and cars that are out of the ordinairy, what is better then to see some nice old cars still running on the road. Even if they're not kept in top condition. I always find it nice when I still come across an early eigthies/late seventies car overhere...unluckely there are very few left, as new cars sell very well here in The Netherlands. That is also the thing I like very much about France, so many nice old cars still running, and it was even better ten years ago.... |

Man, I feel the same exact way. I feel in my heart that older cars are better, & it makes me feel warm inside when I see older cars. |

This car's cameo is one of my favorite scenes in the movie. "JEE-YUM!!" -- Last edit: 2010-08-19 20:12:15 |
