That means it is most likely an Aston Martin 1½ International. |

There is something strange about this car. It doesn't have the wings that were used as a badge on the International cars, but rather two of the AM badges that were used on the 1921-1926 cars. I have never seen one with two badges before. The International was (according to all sources I have found) presented at the 1929 London Motor Show (in October 1929), so I find it unlikely that this should be an International when it was registered more than a year before the model was presented to the public. This picture clearly showing the unusual dual AM badge is from season 1, episode 3, at the time 00:20:39 (I had to crop it to make it narrower than 720 pixels): |

More pictures of KW 4597 in film and real life. Seems to be described as International S4 on most sites, as if S4 is the chassis number, but not much text info apart from this garbled paragraph "Aston Martin 1928 2 seater with unusual engine Reg KW 4597 photos sourced from Rally Driver and Aston Martin DB2 racer Peter Riley who saw it in 1949 owned by a friend of his Tim Wood an engineer - and saw Tim's Father's Aston which may had a 6 cylinder 2 stroke Scott motorcycle engine as Dr was acquainted With Scott Motorcyle co who were trying to develop this engine on hush hush chassis number Aston S4 first swb chassis that AC Bertelli build x 1928 Olympia Motor Show October 1928 ' Car featured Dr Wood Taling Sportscars 11 Aug 1944 AC scott removed and aston martin replaced (bloody interesting!)" |

If an auction house that deals in antique cars say that it is an International, I'm not going to say that they are wrong. It would be interesting to know the story of this car. |

This S4 is of great historic importance to Aston Martin, here's more information about it https://www.facebook.com/dbtrophy/videos/650917108411007/ and links to other sites with wider historic write up |
