Commander 57 ◊ 2010-02-15 21:46	No way to tell if '53 or '54 from this view. Does look like Circle-S on quarter panel, so Champion is correct.
SFTom ◊ 2011-09-05 09:57	Yes, it's a Champ Starlight, alright. And you're right, this picture makes it vary hard to tell. But there is a slight difference in the tail lights. the '53s were flat, and the '54s were slightly rounded. Could be either in this photo.
Commander 57 ◊ 2011-12-16 20:32	The '53's did have horizontal chrome dividers which the '54's lacked but they were very subtle and the photo is not clear enough to tell for certain.

Note how the lower edge of the taillight lens almost touches the bumper and leaves only a very narrow strip of the chromed taillight housing visible underneath. On the '54 C & K cars with the vaulted lenses, this section was noticeably wider as can be seen here: Link to "bringatrailer.com"
