i think 53+ 403 - has scuttle badge not fitted to 401, plus silver grille inserts (401 had black - but this is often wrongly updated ...). https://boc.net/page.php?currPage=cars&sc=6 |

I think it is a 401. I cannot see a badge on the scuttle (or anywhere else), only a reflection from the side mirror. Also, there are no side lights in the fog lamps. They were located in the headlights on the 401. Incidentally, my 403 had red grille inserts and black wheels. |

I agree with His Majesty. Two preserved 401s illustrated on Wiki feature bright metal grille slats and classic headlights with those triangulated metal frames under the glass - exactly as on my 1952 401, years ago. |
