Since this is a U.S film, the "LTD" is actually a Ford Fairmont,a compact sedan. The Fairmont is probably badged as the "LTD" in Canada (source Ford Fairmont-Wikepedia, the free encyclopedia) |

No, it's an LTD. Have you actually read the Wikipedia article on the Fairmont? It blatantly says that the LTD was the successor to the Fairmont. |

Whoops! When I think "LTD", I think about the full-size car. Looking at the photo it looks like a Fairmont to me. I looked up "1983 Ford Fairmont" on Google images, and I found out that the Fairmont has a different grille.  |
