Hopefully it will be destroyed. A Golf II is ugly even in original, but this is more that terrible. |

I´ve always loved the Golf II. Nearly everyone in my family had a Golf II. One of them was even the GTD model. I think the Golf II looks good, it´s very practical and there were no mechanical problems. They´ve always worked... |

Yes, the Golf II belongs to the most reliable cars of the last decades - but it's design is ugly. Totally swollen and plastic everywhere (o.k.,nowadays it's always worse, everywhere), compared to the clear lines of the first Golf I. Golf II, Mercedes W201, Ford Sierra, Citroen BX were the reasons, that I decided, when they were released around 1983: "From now I'm not interested any more in actual cars" This opinion is still fixed today |

My family used to have a 1987 VW Golf II. We bought it for cheap from the neighbor living across the street, he had previously used it as his commuter vehicle of choice. It was reliable and rode well, but we decided to crush in in spring 2007 after we realised from the inspection that the rust had aten way too much of it. I miss that car, but not as much as I miss the Corolla (that one was crushed, too). We still have that 1987 VW Passat Variant in the garage, hopefully we can get it on the road this year, it's barely passed 110.000 k's. |

Sadly, no. I just watched the movie last night, and this one and the Capri are the only cars used in the race that aren't either destroyed, or at least heavily damaged. |
