should it be parc Phoenix in Nice opened 1960? as Raul1983 and Sandie told us, the adventurers shot in Nice? or is it in Suisse? as ingo says, it not only has parts of VW, it looks like Porsche bulked up between the wings, look what i found here. http://gersweiler-online.de/Kleinbahn/bahn2/bahn2.html link shows amusement park Railway train of 1960 in Germany build by Sollinger Hütte Uslar idea by Escher with Porsche boat engine 1600 ccm 46 PS (body developed out of Porsche 356) not the right one, but similar style concept, idol of our trackless train indeed! -- Last edit: 2013-02-03 00:37:13 |

PORSCHEzug here it is! photo Dortmund 1959 it has looks and heart of PORSCHE http://www.switch-gmbh.com/ws/dfg/assets/images/91AK_K_1klein2.JPG make: Kässbohrer Dortmund chassis VW type 1 industrial engine Porsche 1600 these are of same origin as the Porsche Railway trains but called "Schienenlose" trackless trains http://www.switch-gmbh.com/ws/dfg/html/schienenlose.html the story: http://www.switch-gmbh.com/ws/dfg/index.html inspired by Escher´s mid 50ies design 2 originally built on VW chassis used in Norderney purchased for BuGa Dortmund 1959 3 further ones built by Sollinger Hütte called Porschezug with wings of DKW 3=6 the one we are looking for, is one of 6 trains built than improved by Kässbohrer Dortmund, even the site of this trains don´t mention their fate the windscreen seems to be of Auto Union. -- Last edit: 2013-02-03 00:54:16 |

de Efteling? I remember the "summer vacation programme" from the 80ies in the German TV, where several events of this park were broadcasted. Besides typical Dutch summer activities http://www.flickr.com/photos/41725195@N02/4337625122/ there were a plenty of demolition derbies shown, "regular" ones, but also races with cars, towing camping trailers and reverse-gear-races, mainly with DAFjes. -- Last edit: 2013-02-03 22:13:42 |

Hui, that is fun, i guess, as the DAFjes can race backwards as fast as forward. have been 11 years old, making that experience, with my mothers DAF 44. the opened door however blocked by our houses gutter pipe didn´t close backwards, but to crumple instead :O Fortunately we had DAF en Masse to retrofit red door on white body made fire engine out of it. -- Last edit: 2013-02-04 00:34:40 |

At my grandmothers DAF 44 it was opposite: it was read and got a white front hood in its last months. |
