My knowledge on VWs is smaller than a very small thing, but I thought UK 1300/1500 had over-riders/bumper guards and only 1200 had this poverty bumper. |

It seems you're right. I didn't know the 1200 engine was still available in the UK by 1967 (although according to the DVLA, VKX 194E engine's displacement is not correct - 1198cc instead of 1192cc). |
