The LTD II was formerly called the Torino and was an intermediate-sized car. Not to be confused with the larger LTD (no numerals).

When downsized LTD was introduced in 1979. The LTD 2 was actually bigger than the "full-size" Ford. The last year for the Torino based LTD was 1979. They should never have called it LTD. Torino or Fairlane would have been less confusing.
