This is the only view we see of this taxi (check out other background vehicles for slightly different angles ..maybe a clue?) |

Car behind is Chrysler 2-litre. Or is the page for what he's sitting in? Early Silver shadow?? |

This is for the car he's sitting in. Maybe you're right, and it's a chaffeur driven car and Not a taxi? |

Silver Shadow was only a guess based on shapes, but looks un-taxi posh leather seats, headlining, pillar trim and probably early - no tints, hrw, headrests etc. And you have /vehicle_558550.html , which unfortunately has a different quarterlight outline ....... -- Last edit: 2012-12-19 00:28:44 |

My guess is a BMC ADO16. The leather-covered seat with fold-down central armrest makes it look high-end enough to be an MG, Riley or Wolseley (Vanden Plas can be ruled out by the lack of wood door trim). |

So: /vehicle_558570-MG-1100-ADO16-1963.html ? |

Some good thinking and linking ^ and ^^. I thought it was something luxury because of the inset panel on the rear pillar interior trim, so it's a surprise to think of the MG 1100 in that perspective (and I don't think I've ever been inside an MG 1100 or a RR SS - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it). But 1st thumb on its page could show the right outline and 3rd thumb shows similar (painted?) trim strip along front door. So - unexpectedly - I think I agree. |
