They had Ladas in the US? Or would this be a gray import? |

Is it really? I suppose the tall building in the background does look a bit like Eastern bloc architecture on closer inspection. |

Totally agree, I see a GAZ/Wolga Sedan and an Ural truck in the background. |

And there's a blue GAZ 52/53 or ZiL 130 on the other side of the street. |

That's the truck i meant Sorry, not very familiar with Russian cars/trucks. -- Last edit: 2012-12-14 13:31:52 (G-MANN) |

The pixelation makes it hard to see what the other vehicles really are (although I recognise that red Mitsubishi Shogun/Pajero) as well as other details, so this had me fooled (was this shot meant to be standing in for somewhere in North America or is part of the film actually set in Russia?). The wide roads and large blocky buildings look more American than European. -- Last edit: 2012-12-14 13:32:42 |

It's Moscow location with 100 % sure. This city has many such wide 'Prospect' streets. Skyscraper in background looks like one of Moscow's seven (similar in style) buildings erected in 50s, similar to Palace of Culture and Science built 1955 in Warsaw. -- Last edit: 2012-12-14 14:15:20 |
