Yep its a jeep alright though it has been jacked up pretty high; has strange wheels that are neither the wartime split rims or the post war Hotchkiss ones and some pretty big indicators on the front. /vehicles_make-Willys_model-MB+%27Jeep%27.html |

This is a very tired MB that has been lifted in the front by modifying the shackle mounts and possibly over arched rear springs as well (note the near vertical shackles). The frame appears bent near the mid section as is the windshield and body/cowling. Note the modified mounting point for the improvised top bows and as mentioned the custom lights. This jeep has served well. |

The wheels may be GAZ? The offset is not quite correct for the jeep. Are GAZ wheels 5 on 5.5 like Jeep? The chassis has features of Willys with the modification of the lifted front spring perch. The same mod could be on the rear and not visible? This has Willys front axle, springs mounted below and two piece tie rod w/ bell crank mounted on the axle itself, WWII jeep features. GAZ has split differentials, single tie rod across the front axle, and springs mounted above the axle. This is a very tired beat up lived a hard life Willys MB. |
