Late 1989+ "Camry V6" facelift (fully imported from Japan, not built in Australia), due to unique front bumper, alloys, and square badge in grille (not the same as the Toyota badge). The V6 Camry was introduced in June 1988, and was only imported in limited quantities due to import quotas/restrictions at the time (fewer than 1,000 were sold per year, out of 25,000 total Camry sales!). It included all the features of the Australian-built 4-cylinder Ultima model, but had unique alloys and an optional sunroof. Mirrors were black only, oddly, while 4-cyl Ultimas gained painted mirrors in 1991. I am unsure if 1992 V6 models exist, since this generation had ceased production in Japan by that point. Redbook states that 1992 models were sold, but these were most likely stockpiled/leftovers built in 1991. -- Last edit: 2020-01-09 12:22:06 |
