IIRC, in this episode some young guy who's a car buff witnesses the car being used in a crime and describes it gushingly to Reed and Malloy: "It was candy apple red..." and goes on about how cool it was . Later the crooks find the kid and kidnap him, stuffing him in the trunk; after the cops rescue him he dejectedly tells them the car looked nice but was in bad mechanical shape!

No, this is the one with the Freelance Reporters Badgering Reed & Malloy, that eventually ends up with them being Accomplices, when they cause a guy to get Shot & Killed, cause they didn't think the Crooks Reed & Malloy had were real, and 1 of them had a Gun concealed
