Not in the box. |

You're right. Sorry! The car in the frame could be some British Ford from the 50s. |

Looks Anglia 100E? I think we have some US examples. |

Yes, Anglia (or Prefect) [100E]; it's too fuzzy to say for sure which. Can't tell whether 1954+ or 1957+ |

Was the Prefect even sold here? What about the Popular? |

Probably not Prefect (which was 4 door). Popular 100E was late (59+) poverty rebadging of Anglia 100E (alongside new shape Anglia 105E) so very limited export potential - US wouldn't have been interested in obsolete product. We have a very small number of new shape Anglias (106E and Super 124E - as LHD export codes) found in US but very unusual. |

Ford sold the E493A shaped Prefect, and also the corresponding E494A Anglia, but with the 1172cc engine, to the USA. They did market research to test the water for the 100E range in USA, and there is 1 reference on Hemmings to a 300E van, but I cannot find exactly how many of which model were sold in USA. The correspondents to the Hemmings blog certainly recognise the cars when they appear in their pictures of old street scenes, so Ford must have exported a reasonable number. -- Last edit: 2015-07-11 17:16:49 |

And what about the Zodiac? (I'm obviously not implying that the car in question is a Zodiac, just asking if they were sold here.) I ask because we currently have one Ford Zodiac in a US movie, yet I can't find anything about US sales. |

Again, the boys at Hemmings recognise the big MkII Fords, although they do confuse Zephyr and Zodiac sometimes. I can't imagine the Consul with its 1.7 litre four pot engine finding much market in the USA. |
