I think this is actually a Ford GPW based on the suspension, but I'm not 100 % certain. |

For me, no way of discriminating GPW from MB in this pic. The difference in "suspension" would be the style of clip banding the individual springs together that form the spring assembly on each corner. Not very clear as to which style in this pic. If there is additional visible trait please say so? My personal choice is to consider a WWII jeep an MB unless the front cross member is visible or the tool compartment lid/latches are visible in the rear. There are certainly other differences but many are easily exchanged from jeep to jeep. Even the springs being discussed here are often generic in restorations and not 100% correct Ford vs Willys. A slightly higher view than this one and the cross member might give direction. |
