I seriously doubt that fact - as in the US were XJ-S convertibles quite common, there were more coachbuilders that converts them I think... after 1987 they were built by factory also :) anyway this one is US version I believe

The owner presumably wanted it to be LHD and the survival rates are high in the USA.

In Germany the absolute majority of Porsche 356, Mercedes Pagode, VW Karmann Ghia, VW-Porsche 914, Jaguar E-Types and many classic British Roadsters are "made for USA"-versions. Too many classic car events are cluttered up with them [:kiki]

if the original european ones rusted up :p

specially the E-Type , they sold them soo cheaply cos they had ZERO rust protection

A propos US-versions in other countries. I was really surprised, when I saw the following pics in this magazine, my Japanese friend has send to me. Hiroshi confirmed, that of these cars indeed the US-versions were officially imported to Japan.

The other cars of that decades neither, just Porsche and Volvo took slightly care about that. But annother fact is, that of some models the very most were exported to the USA, sometimes up to 80% (Porsche 356 for example).
