In Germany the absolute majority of Porsche 356, Mercedes Pagode, VW Karmann Ghia, VW-Porsche 914, Jaguar E-Types and many classic British Roadsters are "made for USA"-versions. But annother fact is, that of some models the very most were exported to the USA, sometimes up to 80% (Porsche 356 for example).
