1913 Rolls Royce 40/50 hp 'London-Edinburgh' Throne Car by Barker for the Nizam of Hyderabad. In the late thirties it had done hardly any milleage as it was only used once a year for ceremonial purposes. A Jubilee was comong on, and regrettably it was decided to 'update' the car to look more modern, which was done locally. After that is slowly fell into greater state of dispair, until two years ago it was decided by the Nizam's heirs to accept an offer from the organisers of the most important India concours to have it rsstored to a condition closer to the original state which was done. Some conservationists regretted it, other enthusiasts applauded it. It remains the lowest mileage Ghost in the world. Chassis 2117 -- Last edit: 2012-10-31 12:57:08 |
