1100 Break? Looks like a wagon. |

1100 Fourgonette or whichever local name the van version had. While it looks like a rare 3-door Break, it's not one, as the rear side-windows are pillared -- Last edit: 2012-09-03 23:38:37 |

I was watching news about the Syrian conflict few weeks back and saw a 5-door Simca 1100 Break on a street of Aleppo. On a side note I remember a BBC news reporter standing next to a VW 412 in Benghazi, Libya about a year ago. Quite many old interesting cars still left in that part of the world. -- Last edit: 2012-09-04 12:08:38 |

Yes, but unfortunately after surviving all these years, there are now prone to getting destroyed in the crossfire of the conflict such as these cars here: Link to "www.yourmiddleeast.com" |

Is that a Chrysler 160/180 on the left side of Mazda 929? I've noticed that in Libya and Syria over 50% of the vehicles are Korean made. Also many new Chinese trucks and vans. Very few American cars. Around 10-20% of cars are old European or Japanese from 1960's to 1980's. For example in yesterdays news from Syria I saw a Datsun 260C wagon. |

Ah yes, for the past 10-15 years, the number of Korean cars and other cars from cheaper makes (such as Chinese or Iranian) has increased significantly as older European and American cars gradually disappeared and the remaining survivors are now getting destroyed in the conflict. But at least, most of the cars casualties are Korean cars which I don't really care much for. But at this point, the loss of innocent human lives in this conflict is much more concerning to me than cars being destroyed. -- Last edit: 2012-09-04 12:41:24 |
