These vented wheels are odd - no mention on eg http://www.myds420.info/changes.html - so may be pimped. But the design came in with 71 E-type S3, and appeared with these big D centre letters on 74 Double Six. Side windows are 72+ format. seems there were only 2 Daimler made Landaulets - http://www.myds420.info/landaulettes.html - and this ain't one of them. -- Last edit: 2012-07-15 00:00:14 |

The Landaulet from Georgia can be seen with vented wheels and an open top HERE and, closed again, HERE. And below for future reference, because we all know the internet is fickle, but we're not: The conversion was made the same way as we can see it on the construction pictures (note the cuts, the shape of the rear side window frames, the added mouldings and the position of the mounting points for the convertible top), which is why I'm pretty sure that this job was carried out by A&L Composites. |

^ if you think it's the same (LHD) car, I wouldn't argue. Front (and rear bumper glimpse in main) is 1987 onwards. No date known for headlight wipers, but would be late. |

I think it is - the movie was filmed in four different locations in Georgia, the paint scheme and the wheels (if you say they're that odd) and the general distribution of DS420 Landaulets are strong evidences IMO. |

I'd now say a few years later that they are late wheels - mid-80s onwards. There's no info out there about late DS420 wheel sequences - nothing on the website linked above for instance - but they did a few format switches which can be generally linked in our collection to other known changes (bumpers, front grilles etc). The 2013 commment is still correct about when these things happened to Jags, but it clearly took a good few years before DS420s received them. |
