1973 Corvette C3 convertible - absolutely beautiful car. Oily bits pretty much original stock but lucious red paint job a bit more recent. Owned by a guy near Southampton. In August 05 I was at a monthly Yank meeting on Hayling Island and he parked his C3 alongside me. It was such a great looking car and overlooking the Solent on a gorgeous sunny evening I took loads of photo's of it. When the production was getting underway, the head of the action vehicle company given the contract to provide all the Saxondale cars told me he needed a red Corvette, did I know of anyone? Remembering the C3 I sent him a few of the photo's, the production designer gave a big thumbs up, and I then had to find the owner! I emailed a pic to everyone I knew on the south coast and fortunately found someone who knew someone who knew the owner, and had a phone number. It was one of the most confusing and also most fun phone calls I'd made for a while. Piccie here from post-Saxondale reunion on Hayling Island in April 06: http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=3327117 |

Great info there, and it seems that car is 'local' to me |

Because there isn't a right hand drive version of the Corvette. |

It's the other way around. No left-hand-drive vehicles are allowed in Oz. Really strange. And mind you, albeit left-hand-drive cars are perfectly legal to operate in the UK, they command a hefty insurance premium. |
