I have to dis-agree, because thats a Dodge 50 Series [S56]. Year suggestion should be 1982, and it should have that italic words "Police Unit". -- Last edit: 2017-09-27 05:07:49 (dsl) |

Year is 1985/1986 according to the plate But the various sites just give Dodge as make, and no model. Is the 3680cc engine possible in a 50 Series? -- Last edit: 2015-04-03 15:44:09 |

Not 3680cc but 3865cc so probably another DVLA error. Engine options at release in June 1979 for Dodge 50 Series (UK origin) included a 3865cc Chrysler (US) power unit (in addition to a 1981cc petrol engine (UK) and two Perkins diesels 4 and 6 cylinders). The doors, upper front wings and cab rear were carry-over from Chrysler-Dodge tooling, initially purchased from the USA, then tooling was transferred to the UK. The remaining panels were all either UK sourced or US parts that were modified. For the registration year 1985/6 all Chrysler UK vans and trucks were branded Dodge but under Renault ownership. Some Dodge 50 Series S-56 vans were purchased by UK Police forces, bodied by Alloy Transport Bodies of Manchester, in 1986 so this could be one of them. |
