That Impala 2dr has an awful lot of front bumper sticking out, Id say 73/74 Impala, just an opinion... Hi guys, I was driving the car in the stunt. I can confirm that it\\\'s a.. 1973 Chevrolet Impala 2 Door Coupe Green on Green. This car was stunning and should not have been used in this stunt as it was a classic even in 1988/9. As one of the drivers on the Pinewood lot each night we took our pick from 70 key-rings on a rack. That night I got lucky again and got a car worth driving from 5pm to 5am the next morning! The Gotham city set was as big as a small town and our job was to make it look real. It was all filmed during UK winter months and it was freezing on set. The Chevrolet Impala Green on Green interior was warm and drenched in Turquoise dash-light. We had to keep all the cars running all night! never switch off your engine \\\"continuity\\\" if a car wont re-start and the Director (Tim Burton) wants to shoot TIME DELAY + BIG COST = \\\"BIG TROUBLE\\\" We kept 70+ Yank tanks up and running all night for two months!! Fuel bowser\\\'s and jerry cans were refilling our cars as we sat on set engines burning 6 MPG. On the night of the truck and Jokers cars stunt I happened to be driving the Impala past the director and Mr Burton calls out that car looks good lets use that one! Next thing I am in the middle of one of Batman\\\'s big stunt scenes. Much much more to tell. Will post more info on other cars I drove later. Have to go now.
