it looks like a german Standard-Bus first generation even in colors of Hamburg
built by many companies most likely
MAN SL 192 or 200 City bus (VÖV) country bus (StÜLB)

there is no place in Germany without those Busses from 1968 - 1988

i came to the idea, because nowadays MAN or Mercedes delivers single deck Busses to London,
maybe made an first attempt with demonstrator RHD prototypes in the 80ies?!
at least there have been some copycats of this design:
IKARUS 190
http://www.ikarusbus.cz/historie/ik190.jpg
IKARUS 194 VÖV style on Volvo B10M chassis
http://autotrans-bus.narod.ru/info_bus/ikarus-194.jpg
Ikarus built RHD okay this is not VÖV
http://www.ikarusbus.cz/historie/ik261.jpg
but otherwise the design is inspired very much by Standartbus!

Perhaps you're getting confused with the Bombardier/GAC buses designed by FFG for CIE in Ireland:

thank you, for this helpful and interesting hints, leading to some conclusion!
The Bombardier KC 21 to be seen in car wash looks like beeing based on second generation thin pillars in black plastic
massive box shaped top
Link to "de.wikipedia.org"
Our example is nearer to first generation, with rounded window corners + tin in car color pillars
and no box shaped roof but arched style + small rear window
looking at the KC21 it has a rear window exactly the hight of the side window!
Well in 1977 they could have chosen either first or second generation
do you know of Bomabrdier built those, too?

This text is about Mercedes O305 + MAN SL200 RHD VÖV body made in Australia coming pretty close to the searched one, but not yet 100% satisfied with :/

RHD MAN SG192 demonstrator but bendy bus
Link to "www.busaustralia.com"
was delivered to MAN Australia as a demonstrator with an imported kit body assembled by Custom Coaches
MAN bendy bus single rear window like the one we are searching
Link to "www.busaustralia.com"
MAN SL200 (but with three rear windows)
Link to "www.busaustralia.com"
Mercedes-Benz MB O305 PMC (Pressed Metal Corpporation) AUSTRALIA not yet listed on IMCDB
they built at least 360 pieces only the 1. Mercedes generation , cause off
360 listed with pic on the site, you´ll find 600 so called Standartbusses of german origin of different generations
on this site
so these seem to be as comen in AUSTRALIA as in AUSTRIA ( Steyr badged Mercedes-Benz MB O305 or ÖAF daughter of MAN )
maybe the most widespreaded bus in Australia in the 80ies

prophylactically in case of Australian movie showing RHD otherwise Standartbus

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_O305#New_Zealand
New Zealand Motor Bodies B46D licenced VÖV Mercedes-Benz O305

300 built for Auckland
Auckland Regional Authority and its successors had a fleet of over 300 Mercedes-Benz O305 buses (Fleet numbers 1301-1600) which were in use until 2005. Many of these had been sold to other bus operators or converted for other uses including mobile homes. All were fitted with New Zealand Motor Bodies B46D bodies, VoV bodies built under license.
After serving the city of Auckland, some were rebuilt with low-floor bodies by Designline and Fairfax Industries, for further suburban use.
New Plymouth
New Plymouth City Council purchased seven Mercedes-Benz O305 buses. Four were purchased in 1976, on the back of the Auckland Regional Authority order, and used the same specifications. Three more were purchased in 1984.
Mercedes-Benz started delivery of chassis to New Zealnd in 1971 MB O317 city bus with RHD body locally built

i like this picture because
MAN STÜLB side by side Mercedes VÖV
http://mercedes-benz.csmd.cz/images/me/mercedes-benz-0305-new-zealand.jpg
still unlucky with rear window in corner, our bus beeing older.
