Rare and desirable Q25, beloved of BR years ago. Some fabulous pictures of Superpoises on Bing images; that seems to be a name applied to the heavier models in the Commer range, notably in the 1950s. |

First introduced as Q25 (also Q2) Superpoise forward control in August 1941 for essential civilian use and more general use after 1945, it was based on Q25 and Q2 Superpoise normal control chassis. Superpoise was used by Commer for all trucks and vans except for the lightest, car-derived vans. It was first used from April 1939 for the Q series 1½-ton to 6-tons, followed by the S (1948), T (1953) and B (1955) series. According the 'Commercial Motor' in 1939 "Superpoise" suggested mechanical correctness, graceful proportions, balance and efficiency. |

Fabulous Q25(?) motor caravan driven by inebriated Mr Prout (Roland Culver) in 'Folly to be Wise'. He sobers up immediately once Janet Brown's boyfriend has shot one of the Commer's tyres. Ms Brown resembled the young Margaret Thatcher - good career development for her later on. You could tell from the studio interior shots that the 'Folly' Commer embodied the characteristics that Sunbar's Commercial Motor suggested as Superpoise traits. |
