They removed the engines from the cars for the scene. Those crushed by the Caterpillar was pre-cut for that. |

M: What was that? Eve: They were New Beetles. I think. -- Last edit: 2012-11-10 21:16:30 |

Nice scene |

In the German version they say: "Six brand new New Beetles." Brand new, my foot... |

In my copy Eve says (I don't read lips, but it fits): "VW Beetles. I think." |

People says the Beetles in this scene are product placement. How are 15 year old cars product placement? I think VW wants people to buy their new Beetles, not 15 year old ones. |

Just some old-New Beetles |

Why is the model origin United States? Volkswagen is a German make of car. Not American. Why is the model origin United States? I don't get that. -- Last edit: 2013-12-12 23:03:01 |

Why do you post the same question again before even letting someone answering it? I don't get that. The New Beetle was an American design and development, and the fact that the Volkswagen marque is originally German, doesn't mean that all the cars bearing the name are German. There are also several Chinese and Brazilian Volkswagens that have close to no relations with German Volkswagens. -- Last edit: 2013-12-12 23:08:12 |

The New Beetle was conceived by VW's Californian offices. |

The silver one is a 1999-2000 by the fender turn signal and the mirrors. Black one is a 1998 model though in the thumbnail it is shown to have a fender turn signal. |

The black one is a 1C, the rest are all 9Cs. Perhaps it should get its own page? (unlikely) |
