At least two of these Lincoln limousines were commissioned by The Walt Disney Company. They were not built by one of the usual suspects such as Armbruster & Co, Fitzjohn, Eureka, Siebert, National or Hess & Eisenhardt/ S&S: Standard Carriage Works, Inc. of Los Angeles manufactured these outstanding vehicles, which were used as people movers at Disneyland and The Walt Disney Studios. Even though they apparently were not especially used for airport transfers, they reflect the common style of airport limousines back in the day - but on very unusual and spectacular Lincoln chassis. Both units survived, so there's hope they might be restored to their full glory. Source |
