1983-1984 GMC K-1500 High Sierra Wideside In four-wheel drive half-ton 131.5-inch long wheelbase configuration with mid range (not top-of-the-line) High Sierra equipment package. GMC had discontinued the Sierra Grande trim level. Chevrolet did the same with it’s Cheyenne. Shift-on-the-move four-wheel drive had pretty much been adopted across the board by GM around 1983 to 1984, for the half-ton and three quarter-ton pickups and utilities. Almost all had fully-synchronized direct high range gearing. Restoration is not likely in this vehicle’s future. It will more than likely continue to serve as a junk vehicle, and after it is finally deemed too lost to repair or fix-up, be parked in a field (junkyard or something similar). In some segments they drive on public roads with this. It´s filmed in West Virginia, so it might be some local thing? Hope someone know, it would be interesting to learn how it works over there. |

In rural areas (like here in North Carolina) the Farm Use tags are used on unregistered vehicles that serve some purpose on a farm and occasionally have to drive on public roads. The vehicles are only allowed on public roads however while doing farm business, much like a tractor or combine that is driving on the road. |

What they are doing here, is most likely illegal, taking advantage of state issued farm rules and regulations. |

I would probably be the first to say I have no clue about moonshine, or running moonshine, but from my general understanding, its illegal. Or mostly illegal. I have also heard stories that people have gone blind from drinking it. |
