Even though sponsored by Volvo it is not the C303 but the Steyr-Puch Pinzgauer 710 K.

This page is good for a comparison of the pair: http://www.real4x4.com/custom.shtml

These two plus a Land-Rover 101FC would make a very nice trio!

Yes, of course. I wrote it in the comment, but forgot when giving the name... :)

Yes, as also for the Halflinger the Pinzgauer is an Austrian horse breed.

If have a Volvo sponsorization on canvas, was a 1972-1984 Volvo C 303 Cross-Country(recall that in 1983 and 1986 were entered those vehicles at that rally, and on a 1986 motor magazine was published the green(like that)vehicle driven by Greek rallyman Papadimitriou that lift-up front axle on the sand, showing underchassis running gears)

BTW,Pinzgauers had raced at 1979 Paris-Dakar,but that I recall were 6x6(not 4x4)with metal hardtop,so can't be the vehicle that was said to be a Pinzgauer

Looks Volvo C303 to me. Has Volvo offset of the wheels, smooth lower left side panel, longer panel behind rear wheel, and if a Pinz the rear suspension would show significant negative camber at full extension. Difficult from this angle but my thoughts. I have the Pinz and a freind w/ the Volvo, extremely capable vehicles.

Videovision, who filmed this, confirmed that this was a Steyr-Puch. This footage was featured on their VHS: "Challenge. The Paris-Dakar Rallies".

It's a Volvo C303. It started in the 1986 Paris-Dakar and finished on 45th place.
