Looks like a 1936 Cadillac, some kind of coachbuilt car in the "town landaulet" style perhaps by Derham/Brewster/etc |

"Fintail " is close. It's a custom 1937 V-8 Cadillac "Series 75" Town Car by Rollston, USA (90% sure). It is reported that Rollston built only one of these cars so I am assuming it is the same one I admired and photographed in Scottsdale, AZ, in January 1999 where it was being offered for sale at auction by the Kruse organization. It did not find a buyer at that venue and so it proceeded to the next Kruse venue at Auburn, IN, in September the same year. There, as lot #1118, it was bid up to $45,000 but the owner(s) did not let it go. At the time I saw it, the car was painted a dark burgundy color. Kruse said it had been in storage for years. It is featured in the book "Cadillac's of the Past" [one Cadillac book I do NOT have! - copies anyone?] |
